The Merivale group is a high profile property development company that includes in its portfolio well-known hotels, pubs, retail, clubs and bars in Sydney including the ivy, the Establishment and the Slip Inn. Merivale is also the owner and promoters of the Good Vibrations Festival. On a yearly basis, Merivale employs approximately 2000 people across its operations.


Going Automated

In late 2007, Merivale opened a new venue, ivy: a large entertainment precinct with 19 bars, 9 restaurants and 11 retail outlets. This new addition to the portfolio required the expansion of the payroll team to cope with the increased manual data entry and calculation of weekly timesheets.

Kerrie Boylett, General Manager of Administration said, “Our manual systems were extremely time consuming and inefficient. Therefore, it was imperative to find the best software solution to help automate a weekly payroll. The first system we chose made critical timesheet calculation errors, and required switching between several screens to manage an employee’s timesheet.
